چکیده
Objective: This study evaluated the influence of calcium lactate and sodium fluoride mouthwashes on enamelmicrohardness dentin permeability during in-office bleaching. Material Methods: For microhardnessevaluation, enamel blocks were randomly submitted to different treatments associated with bleachingagent using 40% hydrogen peroxide (Opalescence Boost PF 40%/ Ultradent; 3 sessions x 40-minute each)(n = 10): 1) Control: application bleaching agent; 2) Calcium lactate: 1-minute immersion before bleachingtreatment; 3) Sodium fluoride: for 1 minute treatment; 4) +sodium in solution, followed by sodiumfluoride treatment. Dentin discs received same treatment protocols (n 10) evaluatepermeability. Knoop microhardness assessments performed twice (at baseline and48 hours after end treatment). Results: The generalized linear model considering design ofrepeated measures over time showed that there was no significant difference between (p 0.9577)and 0.3267) regarding microhardness. Kruskal Wallis Dunn tests showedthat provided higher than othergroups 0.0009). Conclusion: use solution association within-office did not tooth enamel, although lactatemay increase permeability.KEYWORDSTooth bleaching; Dentin; fluoride; lactate; Hardness tests.

Effect of high- or low-concentration bleaching agents containing calcium and/or fluoride on enamel microhardness.
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate enamel microhardness following bleaching treatments using either high- or low-concentration hydrogen peroxide (HP) agents containing calcium and/or fluoride. Sixty enamel blocks were bleached with 1 of 6 different bleaching agents (n = 10). The high-concentration HP agents were Whiteness HP Maxx (35% HP), Whiteness HP Blue (35% HP, 2% calcium gluco...

Background and Aim: High consumption of carbonated diet soda is the most common etiologic factor for dental erosion. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microhardness of the enamel surface eroded by cola after treatment with Remin Pro and neutral sodium fluoride. Materials and Methods: This in vitro experimental study was performed on 20 extracted premolars with no corrosion, abras...
متن کاملEffect of a carbamide peroxide bleaching gel containing calcium or fluoride on human enamel surface microhardness.
This in vitro study evaluated the surface microhardness of human enamel submitted to bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide (CP) containing calcium or fluoride. Ninety-eight dental blocks (5 x 5 mm2) with polished enamel surfaces were randomly assigned to 7 treatment groups (n=14), as follows: without bleaching and storage in artificial saliva (control); 10% CP; 10% CP + 0.05% calcium; 10% CP + ...
متن کاملMicrohardness of demineralized enamel following home bleaching and laser-assisted in office bleaching
BACKGROUND There is little data regarding the effect of tooth whitening on microhardness of white spot lesions. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of home-bleaching and laser-assisted in-office bleaching on microhardness of demineralized enamel. MATERIAL AND METHODS Forty bovine incisors were selected and immersed in a demineralizing solution for 12 weeks to induce white spot ...
متن کاملRemineralization ability of sodium fluoride on the microhardness of enamel, dentin, and dentinoenamel junction: An in vitro study
AIM Dental tissues such as enamel, dentinoenamel junction (DEJ), dentin, and root dentin can react differently to demineralization and remineralization. The aim of this study was to evaluate the remineralization ability of sodium fluoride on the microhardness of enamel, dentin, and dentinoenamel junction. MATERIALS AND METHODS Ten extracted third molar teeth were sectioned mesiodistally to fo...
